this is a fabulous day!everyone is excited about our show...so fantastic.We have so many talent classmates here!dancer,singer,musican...!I think this is my first time to know which is really necessary to know other countries well...we three also show the chinese song and "qi pao".which is incredibly to give a big impression for the people.Cheers!

6^th -8^th  Jan ,2007

This is my first time to travel in US. Very excited to experience this program in the next half of year.6^th Jan ,I leave for US within UA888 Flight which is from beijing to San Francisco. I am lucky that during the whole journey I am not alone since Yulin is together with me. The most unforgettable thing is airsickness owing to the cyclonic storm when we were across the Japan. It is really much stronger then the forecast said. Therefore I vomit three times till Denver. After a real long dictance flight ,we are successfully arriving in San Francisco airport. We need to wait for about 1 hour to catch the UA862 to Denver. As you know, there has no meals on the flight in US,so I ate my first American Lunch in the airport, which the restaurant’ name is Buger king. Sort of things like M or KFC. Also I saw the “Collegiate” which is a shop to sell Stanford a Berkley’s souvenir…..

 

3:00pm.I arrived in Denver Airport which is the largest one in US,Which is divided into three parts,from Coure A-Course C.It seems fantastic that the airport will take the passengers to get their luggages by tarin . Also it troubles us a little to find our baggage . Soon we find the Up with People stuff. Well, I am so lucky that there’s an American Guy send me the first gift when I just first time coming to US.haha, the gift is a baggage carrierJ,which saves me 3 dollars. Whatever it worthy or not, I just feel that I was treat by people so friendly.

 

Then we were taking the shuttle bus to the UWP place ,to do some registration works and know each other. A fabulous time to see all the new friends from 19 countries.

 

Denver is so beautiful, heavy snow and bright sunshine

 

Since then I starts my new adventure.

 

At about 8:30pm.my host family picked me up .mother, father and a daughter in age of 12. They live in the suburb ,and they surpply me the whole floor which is including bedroom. bathroom , restroom and a reaction room (bar corner and TV),that night I have an excellent sleep which will help me to rest well.

 

On Sunday,they brought me to the “Target”—supermarket to buy prepaid-cards and phones. also one pair of sunglass, because the the snow is too bright under the sun. Then they show me around the down town and told me the way that I will take every day. They are so considerable with me. Later ,they show me to watch a hokey game which is played by my host-father’s team. He is an amateur coach for some teenagers. This is my first time to watch the hokey game in the stadium. I noticed that the game was held in “family sports center” where is only for the children to exercise . for the dinner, I am amazing that they cook rice for me, also chicken and vegetables……

 

This is my first day in this program. In the morning my host-mother is taking me to the school. And joined our opening session ,everything looks very well. Later we introduced one by one. well, it is hard to remember all the name in a short time. But everyone seems to be friendlyJ.and later we have played three games for fun. Those are very relaxed and happy game. I am in the first home team which consists of 11 people , a big family. after lunch we have been educated about US,and we write letter to ourselves, enveloped it and seal it.we hope we can accomplish all the things when the program finished.

The most challenge thing today is I will take the bus and train to my home. But I have done a good job.

 

On the 8^th, we just talked about stereotypes, and do cross-culture training.before I came here I even don’t know that there is The Netherlands Atletic Exist. And I really know many things about the other 18 countries.at afternoon. It is our performing time.dancing and singsing .I also have done a good job and get the appreciate from others.Cheers!
